The collection, composed of nearly 500 volumes, reflects Lyman C. Draper's interest in the history of the trans-Allegheny West from the period of the frontier conflicts in the 1740s and 1750s, through the American Revolution and the War of 1812, and into the middle of the nineteenth century.
